This recipe is a far more healthy and even tastier than the store bought options. My Superfood Grain-Free Granola is made with nutrient dense nuts and golden berries, and is naturally sweetened. You just can’t beat freshly baked granola packed with delicious and good-for-you ingredients.
Cooking Tips:
- First, I used Sincerely Nuts brand. You can find raw and organic products for the same (or at least close) to the same price as conventional items at the grocery store. Also, I used almond meal that you can find in this recipe, otherwise, you can use store bought instead. (In a pinch? You can sub almond flour).
- Don’t skip the egg whites! IF you cannot have eggs, the granola will still work. (Simply mix the flax seed with 1/4 cup of water and let it sit in the fridge for 10-15 minutes. It should come out like a gel.) HOWEVER, the egg will give the granola a beautiful shine, and allow the granola to come out CRISPY! Just only add the whites of the egg.
- Be sure to line the pan with parchment paper so the sweetener sticks to the nuts rather than the pan.
- Make this granola YOURS! Instead of golden berries you can use just about any dried fruit like raisins or unsweetened dried cranberries. You can also add in chocolate chips after the granola has cooled. Lastly, feel free to change up the nuts for pantry items you have on hand, such as almonds, sunflower seeds, and cashews.
If you’re on a budget you may find it difficult to pay for golden berries or even cranberries for your granola. If this is the case use raisins! You can get a good size (even organic) bag of raisins on amazon for about $4! Also, as much as I love the combo of walnuts and pecans in this granola you can just choose one nut and use a less expensive seed, (such as sunflower seed) instead. Just use the same ratios when substituting.

Nothing beats homemade — especially great looking granola such as yours. I love having granola with my yogurt and one of my favorite desserts is baked apples topped with granola. Sometimes granola has too much “stuff” in it. Yours is perfect.
