These Mango Salsa Fish Tacos are simple to make, from FROZEN cod in the air fryer! Which is perfect because they are extra crispy and you don’t have to turn on the oven and heat up your home!
This is an easy recipe to whip up. It only takes 22 minutes in the air fryer. So while the fish is cooking I’ll chop up the ingredients for the salsa. The fact that I can have these beautiful and tasty tacos done in 30 minutes is fantastic! Which also makes these a perfect, busy weeknight meal!
These tacos are also Paleo, Keto, and Whole30 compliant! So you can eat + serve these anytime and to anyone!
Fish is expensive. So where do you get it so you aren’t breaking the bank? FIRST, I love tacos, the tortillas, taco fillings, and sides, make it easy to feel full longer. One pound of fish for a family of 4 goes much further when you have all the other tasty sides. Also, we are combining healthy fats, protein, and carbs in this meal. Making it a perfect combination to keep you full and giving you sustainable energy. I purchased these cod fillets from Aldi. I got 2 pounds for about $10. They are also, sustainably caught in Alaska as well. (It is important to purchase quality fish for your health and the environment, even if it has a hefty price tag.) So the Aldi find is a great deal!
If you remember my last post, “How to Make Almond Meal from Almond Pulp“, I used the almond meal to crust the fish. The almond meal works wonderfully in this recipe. It gives the fish an extra thick, crisp coating, so the fish come out of the air-fryer tender and flaky! If you don’t want to go through the trouble of making your own almond meal you can purchase it at the store. (I know Amazon carries it: Almond Meal.)
This recipe uses Cod fish. However, any white fish will work! I also have instructions to use the fish from fresh and frozen. So if you live near a coast and can purchase your fish fresh, you may use this recipe too!
Also, I used Siete brand tortillas. Be sure to warm them up before you plate your food, the texture is MUCH better this way! Also, these tortillas can get pricey, I have found they freeze well, so whatever leftovers I have I can freeze for later.
As always, I’d love to hear how you enjoyed this recipe so don’t forget to come back and let me know your thoughts! What is your fave Taco Tuesday dish?

- Pre-heat air fryer to 360 degrees. I have a Ninja Foodi, but any air fryer will work. If using a Ninja Foodi, set the setting to "air fry".
- In bowl, combine almond meal and taco seasoning. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs together. Set aside.
- Dip cod into eggs and then roll it in the almond meal mixture.
- Place seasoned cod into the air fryer and close the lid.
- Air fry for 22 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. (If you are using fresh or thawed cod, set the timer for 15 minutes.)
- While the fish is cooking, chop up all the ingredients for the salsa and place in a bowl. I like to wait to stir the ingredients after I pour in the lime juice and olive oil. This coats the avocado a bit so it stays in its shape and doesn't turn to mush as you mix.
- Once the fish is cooked, heat up your tortillas according to the package instructions. (I just used the microwave.) Plate your fish on the tortilla and smother it with salsa! Enjoy!

Did you know that in Scandinavia it’s Taco Friday? 😀 My favourite is shrimp tacos! I bet that mango salsa would pair great also with shrimp. But it would be good to try something new for a change so next time I might make fish. Thank you for the inspiration!
