Sriracha Meatballs

We are a meatball loving household. Please tell me who’s house doesn’t run on meatballs–I want to give them a call. Ha. šŸ˜‰ We usually make my Italian MeatballsĀ and are always happy with them. However, we enjoy changing up our meals from time time and THIS is the best meatball I’ve had, so, I’m pretty happy we decided to do a spin-off! TheseĀ Sriracha Meatballs have a nice sweet flair with a slight tangy heat. The best part (at least to me) they are toddler approved–no ketchup required!

This is a simple dish to create and you can do it in about 30 minuets which makes for a great weeknight meal! Also, with the holidays around this would make for an amazing appetizer! You’ll have your guests drooling at the seams. OR at the very least be celebrated for your cooking success. I’m telling you they are THAT good!

I used this brand of PaleoĀ Sriracha Sauce. I’m recommending it because I love it and am not getting paid in anyway for my recommendation.

I used ground turkey for this recipe. You can use ground chicken, pork, beef. Its a very versatile dish so I would recommend just using what you have on hand or what is on sale at your local grocery store.

My money saving tip to you would be for when it comes to using ground meat find what is your cheapest option–especially when making a meatball dish where you’re adding so many other flavors, you’re not going to tell a whole lot of a difference. Some don’t like the texture of turkey so they will go for ground pork or beef. I usually find ground turkey is the cheapest of the bunch. However, if you want the taste/ texture of the ground pork or beef use one pound of each to save some money. Mixing the ground turkey with another ground meet will give your meatball a more complex flavor as well. So have fun, and look for savings at your grocery store and don’t stress about it too much!

Meatballs:
2 lbs of ground turkey or any other ground meat of choice
1/4 cup chopped parsley
4 minced garlic gloves
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
green onions for garnish (optional

  • Combine ingredients together in a large bowl. Honestly, using your hands is the best trick!

  • Use a tbsp to gauge roughly 1.5 inch balls to make them all unison.

  • Place meatballs on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minuets or until fully cooked.
  • While the meatballs are in the oven start the sauce.

Sauce:
1 1/4 cup paleo sriracha sauce or a whole bottle of this brand: PALEOCHEF Sriracha Sauce
1/3 cup honey
2 tbsp coconut aminos

  • Add all ingredients to a large pot.
  • Turn the heat on high and whisk together occasionally.

  • Keep the heat at high and and allow the sauce to reduce a bit—about 10 minuets. By this time the meatballs will be finished.
  • Turn off heat and place meatballs in the sauce.

  • Flip meatballs in the sauce until they are completely coated.

  • Place lid on pot, turn heat on high and return the sauce to a boil.

  • Once the sauce begins to boil, turn off heat and serve!

Enjoy!

I’ve been struggle with what to make for our upcoming girls get together, but I know this is definitely going on the table. Sweet and spicy is one of my favs and these meatballs are filling but perfect for bite sized snacking.
